Attracting Solutions
Sunday, May 9th, 2010I recently went through a short, stressful period with my job and relationships. While I was sitting, staring at my computer, wondering why none of the new ideas I’d implemented were working and generating income, and wondering why they were sucking the life out of my advertising budget with minimum returns, I received an email from one of the many lists I’m a member of.
Now I don’t recommend you go and sign yourself up to lists to get your ‘messages’. You’ll end up reading a thousand a day and not being able to move forward. What I do recommend is that, if you are receiving emails from lists, wait until something in the subject line, or just a feeling, tells you you should read what it has to offer and you may find it points you in the right direction.
So, I do get 100s a day and rarely do I read any of them. Yesterday was different. Having reached a point in my bricks and mortar business where I’d have to consider restructuring everything to continue making a profit, I suddenly received an email promising that outsourcing was the way of the future.
Obviously we all know about outsourcing but did you know that there are hundreds of thousands of people in the Philippines who can speak English, have degrees and run your business for you for just US $5 per hour? Some will even do some work for $1 per hour. All online work. I couldn’t believe it. I also couldn’t believe it was a) very easy and b) something everyone has been doing for years.
It was the solution to my problem.
Now, you might be thinking, ‘what has this got to do with me?’, ‘how does this help me?’
Do you have a problem you need solving? Are you looking for solutions but can’t seem to find one? Think a bit about your problems and perhaps the solutions will appear through other means. Maybe you don’t need to come up with the solution. Maybe someone else does. Outsource your problem to someone. Even just thinking about it may pull a solution to you.
This outsourcing story doesn’t end there though. I got this information from a series of videos that were posted online with the plan to pitch an online course on managing outsourcing employees. It sounded great but way outside my budget. Do a search online for: Outsource Force and you’ll find it. If I was a big affiliate marketer I’d include a link here but I’m only suggesting it so you know what I’m talking about.
Anyway, continuing with the story, I followed a link in one of the videos to find one of these people that can just sit there for hours and post adds to international classified ad sites advertising one of our online services. Now, being pretty down about everything that has been happening recently, I subconsciously needed something to give me a buzz or cheer me up or just give me some kind of encouragement. I certainly hadn’t been thinking about the Law of Attraction for weeks due to worrying about more pressing matters, so when I clicked on a resume and got this message I was very surprised:
“I’m a very optimistic person and I live by Christian D Larson’s “The Optimist Creed”
Of the thousands of resumes I’ve read in the past 20 years, no one has put that in their CVS or cover letters. Why is it, when I’m feeling at my lowest, do I find, on the other side of the world, a line directing me to something that will cheer me up? Needless to say I checked this out. Christian published this in 1912. I hope you find that it cheers you up a bit too. Until next time…
