Cosmic Ordering

Monday, January 4th, 2010

What is the difference between the Law of Attraction and Cosmic Ordering? Well, nothing much. The Law of Attraction looks at how our thoughts influence the world around us and how we can use those thoughts to attract what we want into our lives. The words ‘Cosmic Ordering’ seems to focus on getting particular things or items into your life, like a new car or house or partner. Both meanings mean you just ask the universe for what you want, stay blissfully happy and grateful and eventually what you want will appear. Another way of saying the Law of Attraction and Cosmic Ordering is Manifesting your Desires.

So, what have you been manifesting lately? Many people want physical, solid objects that they can hold. This is the materialistic and consumer culture world in action. There are other things you can manifest too. Like solutions.

I’m always trying to find solutions to problems. The Law of Attraction is great for this. I think of a problem and meditate for a solution. It may not come to me at the time but it will suddenly appear out of the blue later.  Like wanting to find an entrepreneurial club with the intention of finding someone who can help me with my business, and finding the club, then the mentor I need at the first meeting I went to. Or needing a new timesheet software for my staff and having a student tell me all about the timesheet software he used to sell that’s still around. (How many English students do you know that used to sell timesheet software???)

So, rather than focus on the problem and stress about the problem, meditate on the universe finding you a solution. It could be about money, time or space but the universe will help. The answer may not be what you’re expecting but the universe always answers. Just ask.

Review of The Secret Movie

Sunday, January 3rd, 2010

Well, The Secret Book and The Secret Movie completely changed my life so I’m afraid I’m going to have to say this is going to be a very biased review!

The movie explores the universal law that operates whether we know it or not known as the Law of Attraction. The movie goes into some detail as to how you can use the law of attraction to change the world around you. It interviews several people from around the world and they tell all their stories and how their belief and vision have attracted what they need into their lives. I was particularly impressed with Jack Canfield’s story, enough to then go out and buy his book The Success Principles . Having read most of his series ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul’ and looking forward to his latest Teacher Tales he was the one that finally won me over. Admittedly I have yet to stick a vision check onto my ceiling but I’ll do that one day.

I thought the video was brilliant for a number of reasons.

1. It is full of self-empowering and complimentary comments. For those people who are feeling a bit depressed it is a feel-good movie. Lots of lines about why YOU are special and how YOU can change things.

2. It doesn’t try to sell you anything. All the information is freely given and there’s enough there for you to go and do it yourself without buying any additional merchandise. On the DVD release version there is an advertisement at the end by Bob Proctor encouraging you to buy merchandise, but that’s the only sell.

3. It’s like a science program on gravity. You learn everything you need to know about gravity but until you drop a ball you can’t completely believe it. The movie gave examples on how you can test the theory of the law of attraction for yourself. Imagining a car parking space where you want it to be or believing someone will buy you a cup of coffee. Simple things like that that you can test yourself. So, of course, I tested them and found the law of attraction to work for me too.

4. The direct to camera cut and swap style of storytelling is not for everyone but I liked it. The stories and music and background images, as well as the fact that many of the speakers gave their own views, in sections, on how things worked, that were well-edited together, meant that it kept my attention. Each section was a revelation for me and kept me wanting more.

The other great thing about the movie is that, unlike other direct to camera interview documentaries, there were copious reenactments and explanatory scenes going on while the speakers talked. This helped reinforce a number of things some of the speakers were saying and also meant the movie did not get boring.

One of the downsides is that, if you were one of the people who went to the cinema to see this movie based on the advertising, you were probably disappointed. Many thought The Secret was a story rather than a group of interviews. I don’t think I’d ever pay money to see a movie at a cinema featuring interviews!

Even so, the fact that the movie contained life changing information made it worthwhile for anyone who decides to follow the 21st century way of viewing the universe. 9/10. Find out more about the DVD release here

How you are influenced by the law of attraction through others.

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009
Many books on the subject of the Law of Attraction talk about what you can do to bring great things into your life. Of course, being able to control your life is important and knowing how to use the law of attraction to manifest your desires is crucial, but as we’re in a ‘me’ centered world, not much is discussed on how others’ desires influence you.

And others’ desires do change the world around you.

Here is an example. On Monday I was working late as usual, doing some admin for my non-profit business of private tutoring, and had decided to leave at 7pm. Around 6.30pm several things started happening that were a little out of the ordinary. Nothing important but just things that meant I could see I wasn’t going to leave at 7pm. Downloads taking longer than normal. Systems moving slower. Suddenly finding that something I had thought had been done hadn’t etc. So I left at 7.25pm.

Being a public holiday the building was closed and I didn’t have any students scheduled for me or any of my other tutors. So I was surprised when I came down in the lift to see a student waiting outside the building at 7.25pm. There had been some miscommunication with one of the other tutors and she thought that she had a lesson at 7.30pm and had just arrived. I was able to contact the tutor, discuss the situation and reschedule her lesson for her, enabling her to go back home. If I hadn’t been delayed in my office, I wouldn’t have seen her in that brief time period and she could have been stuck waiting. So her need for someone to meet her influenced the world around her to bring me downstairs at the time when she needed someone to be there!

You can look at it as a coincidence of course but if you measure this statistically and compare the times I leave the building at 7.30pm (very rare) with the likelyhood of me being at work on a public holiday (also very rare) and students organising lessons at 7.30pm on a Monday (another rare thing) it looks more like the Law of Attraction to me!

I actually regularly see this kind of situation often. If I get inexplicably delayed (even if it is just accidentally spilling a cup of coffee when I’d performed that action a thousand times without incident just as I’m about to leave) I believe that someone is going to meet me or come by to see me within the next few minutes. I’m usually right.

Have you had anything unexplained happen to you, like delays or setbacks that then resulted in you being able to help someone else?
